Percutaneous TransMyocardial Reperfusion with Laser (PTMR or TMR)
| |||||||||
Current Postings (2): Bob -- this procedure has been kind of in
and out of the news -- Eclipse, the company that produced some of the
first units is now Cardiogenesis. It's done during open heart surgery.
We believe the percutaneous version is
still investigational. Dr. Fayaz Shawl, a prominent cardiologist in
the U.S. (read our
interview in which he discusses PTMR) would be an excellent source
of information on this. He has a web
site with more details and
contact information. Has anyone had Laser TMR or Laser PTMR recently,
or in the past several years? Would you be willing to share your
experience/recovery process? I've read where this procedure may also
be used with CABG,
or with stem cells; getting correct and/or up-to-date information
on the internet can be frustrating.
