Endovascular Summit 2006
August 2-4, 2006— Jackson Hole, Wyoming, USA
Course Co-Chairs Zvonimir Krajcer, MD and Gerald Dorros, MD, ScD write: "The Endovascular Summit provides an engaging, informal, and relaxing environment in which a small group of attendees can interact with internationally recognized faculty. The expanded three-day Endovascular Summit 2006 will consist of three symposia: 1-day Cardiovascular Imaging Symposium (covering the latest imaging technology for cardiac and PVD interventions); 2-day Endovascular Techniques Symposium, which consists of four 3-hour clinical modules, which will include case presentations and interactive discussions with faculty and industry members; Public Forum on Cardiovascular Interventions, where clinicians of the Summit will discuss the latest advances in interventional medicine with the invited public and press.

The course includes 4 or 5 day hands-on training of cardiovascular CT scanning. It also includes a series of didactic lectures and a syllabus of selected review articles. The course is personally given by Dr. Michael Poon, who is currently the President Elect of the SCCT and Chief of Cardiovascular Medicine and Integrated Imaging at Cabrini Medical Center. This course has room for 7 or 8 physicians a week and is usually booked 6-8 weeks in advance. The week indicated above is the first available time slot.

Sponsored by the Society for Cardiovascular Angiography and Interventions (SCAI). A practical first step for cardiologists wishing to explore the field of MDCT. The program will provide a focused training experience in the emerging field of cardiac Multidetector Computed Tomography (MDCT) and will offer cardiologists the opportunity to learn the basic and advanced aspects of cardiac MDCT in a didactic and hands-on format. The course will provide the fundamentals of the technical and interpretative aspects of MDCT training, building on the existing strong fund of cardiac anatomic and physiologic knowledge possessed by practicing cardiologists. Advanced Coronary and Endovascular Demonstrations
October 8-11, 2006 — New York, New York, USA
This year's NY ACE meeting will present an expanded 3 1/2 day meeting featuring a large number of complex coronary, peripheral, carotid and endovascular procedures in a live demonstration format that will appeal to cardiologists, vascular surgeons and radiologists alike. Live case transmissions will be from Lenox Hill Hospital. In addition to the Lenox Hill interventional team, the meeting features continuous moderator and lecture support from a visiting faculty, live demonstrations, min-symposia, case reviews, keynote lectures and a nursing/tech workshop Topics will include: Complete Cardiovascular Imaging With Computed Tomographic Angiography (CTA) and MRA, Carotid Stenting Thoracic Stent Grafts Femoral Intervention Embolization Techniques Complex Coronary Interventions with Percutaneous Left Ventricular Assist Devices Atrial Septal/Left Atrial Intervention. Among the members are pioneering cardiologist Gary Roubin, MD (who worked with angioplasty inventor, Andreas Gruentzig (1939-1985) -- see a video clip of Dr. Roubin discussing what Gruentzig might think of developments today and recalling how Gruentzig invented not only angioplasty but the live demonstration course); also on the faculty is vascular surgeon Richard Green, MD (who appeared in our documentary, Vascular Pioneers: Evolution of a Specialty) and Harvey Hecht, MD, Director of Cardiovascular CT.
 
Current Concepts of Magnetic Resonance Imaging
October 15-19, 2006 — Monterey, California, USA
Presented by Stanford Radiology, the course description states: Each day contains a mixture of presentations on technical aspects and clinical applications. The course begins on Sunday with an introduction to basic NMR and MRI principle, and contrast agents are discussed. Image formation and contrast manipulation mechanisms are discussed on Monday. Tuesday is mostly devoted to vascular imaging but also covers artifacts and 3D visualization in general. Fast imaging strategies and applications are the focus of Wednesday. Discussions of advanced applications, including advanced neuro techniques, cardiac imaging, and breast imaging are presented on Thursday. Workshops on basic concepts and interesting cases are presented Sunday through Wednesday afternoons. Each day (except Sunday) begins with a question and answer session. In addition, the faculty are available throughout the course for informal discussions.
 
TCT 2006 — Transcatheter Cardiovascular Therapeutics 16th Annual Symposium
October 22-27, 2006 — Washington, D.C., USA
Sponsored by the Cardiology Research Foundation, the TCT is the largest international symposium designed for physicians and other healthcare professionals with a special interest in the field of interventional vascular therapy. To meet the rapidly increasing interest in new imaging technologies like MDCT and MRA, multiple sessions will be held throughout the week targeted to these fields. New Cardiovascular Horizons 2006
November 1-4, 2006 — New Orleans, Louisiana, USA
This meeting is the fourth largest cardiovascular conference in the nation. This conference is the first and largest truly multidisciplinary conference to bring together fellows and residents, pharmacologists, imaging professionals, surgeons, cardiologists, interventional radiologists, podiatrists, nurses, technologists, physician assistants, endocrinologists, family practice physicians, internal medicine specialists, pharmacists, EMTs, diabetologists and vascular medicine specialists. Each year, the conference brings 3,500+ attendees, 125+ exhibitors and over 200 faculty including individuals who are considered legends in the field of medicine, such as Dr. Julio Palmaz, the inventor of the coronary stent that bears his name and Dr. Edward Diethrich, inventor of the sternal saw used in open chest surgery.

Cardiovascular CT at Concord Workshop
November 10-12, 2006 — Sydney, AUSTRALIA
This conference will feature a series of lectures and workshops on a range of topics in cardiac and vascular CT. Invited speakers include international experts in the field, cardiologists, radiologists and a radiation physicist. Lectures will cover a range of topics, including live demonstration of scanning, radiation safety, coronary CT angiography, cardiac functional imaging, neurovascular CTA, abdominal CTA and general thoracic CT angiography.

American Heart Association Scientific Sessions 2006
November 12-15, 2006 — Chicago, Illinois, USA
This four-day meeting is "the world's largest convention for scientists and health care professionals devoted to the science of cardiovascular disease and stroke. Programming provides continuing medical education and unparalleled education through over 3,700 presentations given by experts in the areas of cardiovascular disease."

The American College of Cardiology holds its 56th Annual Scientific Session. The annual meeting of the ACC is unsurpassed among clinical cardiovascular meetings. As started in 2006, the i2 Summit which focuses on interventional cardiology will be held concurrently.
 
2007 SIR 32st Annual Scientific Meeting

9th Annual International Symposium on Multidetector-Row CT
