"Over the last two and half years, we have taught more than 400 physicians and technologists about advanced cardiovascular CT. We have done so with a commitment to providing an outstanding educational experience that results from the combination of creative curriculum design, exceptional faculty, and innovative teaching methodology," said Jay Cinnamon, M.D., an instructor of the course, and director of 3-D imaging for GRREN. "It is with this same spirit that GRREN has developed and launched the new Cardiac-CT courses that meet the ACC Level I and II guidelines. We employ a sophisticated and methodical curriculum that blends challenge with achievement. The goal is simple: to teach core material and nuance — all in a five-day course held in our state-of-the-art teaching center. And all this we do with a passion for teaching that rivals many of our most prestigious academic institutions." Course objectives include:
The comprehensive workshop will be held in a private-practice setting and is open to cardiologists as well as radiologists. Developed and conducted by highly qualified instructors, former Emory University Medical Center professors, the course is designed to meet the ACC Levels I and II, as well as ACR, training requirements through interaction with 150 studies. Competency is achieved through integration of didactic teaching, direct real-time case interaction, extensive clinical case review and supervised workstation experience for advanced cardiac multislice-CT applications. "This program is a great option for Toshiba customers who have purchased an Aquilion CFX system," said Doug Ryan, director, CT Business Unit. "We remain committed to advancing professional knowledge and expertise through education and training." Course dates scheduled in 2007 are April 30-May 4, and June 11-15.
