Toshiba Celebrates Grand Opening of the
Toshiba Education Center

State-of-the-Art Facility Provides Cutting-Edge Training for Customers Across the U.S.

TUSTIN, CA — November 8, 2006 — As part of its ongoing commitment to customer training, Toshiba America Medical Systems, Inc. today announced the grand opening of the Toshiba Education Center. The center, a $6 million, 4,840 square-foot expansion to the Toshiba Training Academy, provides a full complement of state-of-the-art classrooms and labs equipped with Toshiba’s advanced CT, MR and Vascular products, including the Aquilion™, Vantage and Infinix™ systems.

"Toshiba's commitment to customer care starts at the beginning of every customer relationship. We immediately make sure that all technologists fully understand our products’ unique features," said Anita Bowler, manager of Customer Education at the Toshiba Learning Center. "Ensuring that technologists and physicians are as educated as possible on our systems ultimately results in improved patient care."

Today, all customer training takes place at the Toshiba Education Center, as well as at institutions across the U.S., while Toshiba Service training continues at the Training Academy.

Toshiba's technologist training is conducted in three phases. Phase One consists of an intensive four-day course at the Toshiba Learning Center. Attendees benefit from clinically qualified instructors and limited class size to ensure individual and in-depth training. Phase Two and Three of the program are conducted onsite at the customer's facility to ensure that classroom knowledge translates into the best patient care possible.

Additionally, Level II physician certification courses are available in cardiac CT through Toshiba's education partners, including Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center in Baltimore, University of California, Irvine in Irvine, Calif., University of Florida & Shands in Gainsville, Fla. and CVCTA Education in San Francisco.

Toshiba will be showcasing its education and training offerings at this year's Radiological Society of North America's (RSNA) annual meeting in Chicago, Nov. 26–Dec. 1, 2006. To learn more about Toshiba, please visit www.medical.toshiba.com.
