Toshiba Showcases Suite of Interventional Planning Tools for Infinix-i Series Product Line
DeviceFusion and BoneFusion Improve Treatment Planning and Device Placement CHICAGO, Nov. 30, 2006 – The full line of Infinix-i™ series three-dimensional (3D) vascular labs from Toshiba America Medical Systems, Inc. will be on display during the Radiological Society of North America’s (RSNA) annual meeting in Chicago, Nov. 26-Dec. 1. The impressive systems – including the Infinix VC-i/3D vascular X-ray – will demonstrate Toshiba’s patented suite of integrated planning tools, designed to improve visualization of structures and devices when conducting complex vascular procedures. “The planning tools available on our Infinix product line improve the visualization of bone and vessels to assist in surgical planning and enhance the accuracy of interventional procedures – ultimately delivering better care to the patient,” said Robert Micer, director, X-ray Vascular Business Unit, Toshiba. “The latest upgrades to the Infinix-i series demonstrate Toshiba’s long-term commitment to innovation and extending imaging capabilities to further clinical value.” Included on Toshiba’s Infinix-i series vascular systems, DeviceFusion and BoneFusion, are unique applications using two separate 3D volume rendered data sets, enabling accurate diagnosis and appropriate treatment. For example, DeviceFusion allows physicians additional confidence to determine if a device is protruding into a vessel after deployment. BoneFusion applications for the Infinix-i series allow physicians to easily distinguish bone and vessel relationships to determine the most effective treatment plan for the patient. BoneFusion and DeviceFusion are distinctive patented technologies to Toshiba America Medical Systems. Another unique, proprietary technology on Toshiba’s Infinix-i series, called GuideView, enhances visualization of guide wires and other devices by fading live-image backgrounds during fluoroscopy procedures – potentially reducing contrast use, exam and device-positioning time.
