Years ahead of his time, Andreas Gruentzig's vision of where angioplasty was in 1985, and where it was going to go, was prescient.
In clips from our interview with him, only weeks before his tragic death, Gruentzig discusses everything from total closures, “the ideal catheter,” and the need for additional non-balloon catheter systems to the importance of recognizing complications.
