Patient Guide to Heart Tests
Coronary angiogram, cardiac catheterization, ultrasound, thallium nuclear scan, stress echo, 64-slice CT angiography, MRI, MRA -- for the patient who has been having chest pains, or has certain heart disease risk factors, one or more of these tests may be recommended. "Imaging tests" help the cardiologist see inside the patient's heart in order to determine if coronary artery disease is present.
