October 22, 2007 -- TUSTIN, Calif. -- Toshiba America Medical Systems, Inc. today announced the introduction of its Infinix(tm) VF-i/SP X-ray system, a universal cardiovascular system designed to accommodate diagnostic and interventional procedures. The system will be showcased at the 19th Annual Transcatheter Cardiovascular Therapeutics show, being held October 22-24, 2007 in Washington, DC.
Developed based on the popular Infinix-i series platform, the new floor-mounted, single plane system features a multi-axis positioner with extremely versatile movement for unprecedented patient access and anatomical coverage, including head-to-toe, finger tip-to-finger tip coverage. These features allow clinicians to complete procedures more quickly and comfortably than traditional systems, reducing procedure times and improving overall departmental workflow. In addition, a high-resolution 12"x16" flat panel detector provides the uniform, distortion-free images required for the full range of cardiovascular studies.
"Flexibility and efficiency are very important to clinicians and there continues to be demand for high-quality, universal cardiovascular systems that can handle diagnostic and interventional procedures using just one room," said Robert Micer, director, X-Ray Vascular Business Unit, Toshiba. "Not only does this system enable clinicians to accomplish more, but it also improves the overall experience for patients."
Other system features include a unique programmable tableside dose control option that optimizes dose management and a high table weight capacity, which allows clinicians to accommodate larger patients. The system also features a CV-3D workstation and a 3D coronary analysis package for accurate assessment.
