Terumo Interventional Systems’ proven Glidecath Hydrophilic Coated catheter product line makes way for the Yashiro tip shape; a new, three-dimensional U-shape tip for optimal entry to the celiac trunk.
Terumo Interventional Systems, a strategic business unit of Terumo Medical Corporation, has extended its Glidecath line of catheters to offer the new Yashiro tip shape, which provides better access to certain arteries, particularly the celiac artery. When rotating the catheter counterclockwise, the distal end can be easily manipulated to enter the ostium of the celiac artery.
In trials, doctors have noted that the tip “pops right in,” which makes the Glidecath’s Yashiro tip shape ideal for most liver-related procedures. Also, unlike other catheters, when the tip enters the celiac trunk, the three-dimensional shape provides a stable entry platform.
The Glidecath’s Yashiro tip shape is available in 4 Fr and 5 Fr size catheters that are 70 cm in length. These catheters are packaged three per box.
