              | | | March 27, 2009 -- San
                  Diego --
Volcano Corporation (Nasdaq: VOLC), a leader in the development,
manufacturing and sales of products for the diagnosis and treatment
of coronary and peripheral artery disease, today announced
its presence at the 58th Annual Scientific Sessions of the
American College of Cardiology (ACC) conference in Orlando,
FL, to be held from March 29th to 31st, 2009. | Joe Burnett, Vice President of Marketing
at Volcano commented, "Three years ago, you could flip through the ACC program and see a couple of presentations on intravascular assessment using IVUS or FFR. This year, there are more than 50 presentations, case reviews and abstracts focused on FFR, IVUS, OCT, Forward-Looking IVUS, and VH® IVUS
plaque composition. Word is getting out that more precise guidance
during PCI is important, and the sheer number of talks focused
on higher resolution tools, highlight the increased demand for
                access
to these technologies. The strategy that relied on angiography
alone is evolving to include better confirmation of disease severity
                and
stenting technique. The economic environment that our healthcare
system faces is demanding that we target the right patients,
and that we get it right the first time."

Volcano will be highlighting its full suite of therapy enabling technologies through live case transmissions, booth demonstrations and sales and educational partnerships. The Volcano s5i integrated imaging system will be on display at booth #3042, as well as numerous x-ray vendor booths, including GE, Philips, Siemens and Toshiba. GE will be highlighting the Innova IVUS product, which offers unique integration of the Volcano's s5i system that shares data with, and can be controlled by, the Innova system.

Volcano Corporation is also pleased to announce
that we have reached agreement with Indec Medical Systems and Medis
Medical Imaging Systems to integrate Volcano's proprietary VH® IVUS analysis technology into their IVUS image analysis software products. The integrated software is expected to allow physicians and Core Laboratories to load, display, and analyze Volcano grayscale IVUS and VH® IVUS
images and output data in a familiar file format. Prototypes of the
integrated software will be on display and available for demonstration
in Indec's booth #3248 and Medis' booth #1381 at the ACC.
