May 2, 2011 -- Firenze, ITALY -- The organizers of the upcoming 32nd Congress of the Italian Society of Invasive Cardiology (Congresso Nazionale Società Italiana di Cardiologia Invasiva) to be held in Genoa on October 11-14, 2011, have announced a new initiative and opportunity for young interventional cardiologists and fellows to present the quality of their work.

Clinical cases of particular interest and educational value will be selected by a Scientific Committee and, if accepted, will be presented in the “Best Young Interventional Case Competition” session in the Main Arena during the Opening Ceremony.

The six best selected cases will compete and will be voted by experts and the audience who will decide the allocation of the six prizes of 5.000, 4.000, 3.000, 2.000 and 2 of 1.000 euro each. The prizes have been allocated thanks to an unrestricted educational grant.

Authors are kindly requested to submit the clinical cases before 31 August 2011 to the Congress Organising Secretariat (email: casesgise2011@oic.it).

Instructions for submitting:

  • The presentation must be a PPT or a PDF file, with embedded images (please do not include videos)
  • Subject of the e-mail: “GISE 2011 Clinical Case”
  • Attached file must not exceed 8 Mb
  • Presentation and discussion of the clinical case must be in the same file, including:
    • field of application (coronaries, structural heart, peripheral)
    • rationale
    • technical solutions
    • clinical implications
    • perspectives
  • The maximum age limit to participate is 40 years (please send a copy of ID or passport attached).

Rational, clinical implications, perspectives, suggestions will prevail more than the technical figures of the case. The submitting Author will be notified regarding acceptance and concerning all technical details for the presentations by 9 September 2011.

Congress registration is mandatory in case of selection.
